The Star of the Southland

©Eleanor Fairchild (Truly Carmichael)

Lift up your voices your hearts and your eyes
To She who shines bright o'er the earth and the skies.
Behold fair Regina, both wise and serene:
The Star of the Southland, our lady the queen!

Sing out, and ring out, let echo the cry
To the pearl upon velvet, the light of the sky.
Long live our Lady! Regina Renowned!
The Star of the Southland once more shall be crowned!

Lift up your glasses, your tankards, your horns
To the brightest of jewels as ever was born.
Noble and gracious as ever has been:
The Star of the Southland, our lady the Queen!

Sing out, and ring out, let echo the cry
To the pearl upon velvet, the light of the sky.
Long live our Lady! Regina Renowned!
The Star of the Southland once more shall be crowned!

Qui sedes a dexteram rex regalis*
Inspiring our honor, desiring our peace.
Let “God save our lady!” ring out through the hall;
The Star of the Southland shines over us all!

So sing out, and ring out, let echo the cry
To the pearl upon velvet, the light of the sky.
Long live our Lady! The halls shall resound!
The Star of the Southland comes now to be crowned!
