Passing of the Crown
©Eleanor Fairchild (Truly Carmichael)
Oh behold, behold, Ansteorra Behold!
They once were the star on a field of shining gold
As I sing of the stories and the legends handed down
Now I sing from my soul
Of the passing of the crown
Now stands a sword with no hand on its hilt
Now blooms a rose that will never fade or wilt
Now walks a knight to his own lady fair
Now lies a crown on a throne that is bare
And so they go like their fathers before
She who inspired and he who led in war
As they add to our lineage, we all gather round
To honor in silence
The passing of the crown
Now stands a sword with no hand on its hilt
Now blooms a rose that will never fade or wilt
As they add to our lineage, we all gather round
To honor in silence
The passing of the crown
Eleanor's note: This was written and performed for the Stepping down of TRM Jason I and Saereid I.
